Welcome To The

Part 1 of a new collection of original watercolour paintings inspired by the iconic Hudson Bay Blankets. Read below to learn more about the collection or click the button to shop now
This collection grew out of a period of deep introspection, where fabric forms and HBC textiles became a way to explore the tensions and comforts woven through intimate relationships. The folds, colours, and shifting light echo both internal emotional terrain and the prairie and foothill landscapes that shaped me and my family. These pieces reflect the coexistence of softness and strain, and the slow return to light as things fall into place in their own time.

This collection is rooted in legacy and place: to preserve something iconic through paint while reflecting on home, both the interior environments and external landscapes.
Reflections of a Canadian Experience
As the work developed, the rhythm of the blankets began to mirror the rhythm of the landscapes I grew up with in the Prairie Provinces: rolling fields, soft foothills, distant mountains, and the emotional highs and lows that mark a life in motion. These references to prairie and foothill landscapes surfaced not as literal depictions, but as echoes of internal terrain.
Evolution of the Collection
This release marks the first part of a larger body of work. Keep scrolling down for more insights into the evolution of The Hudson Bay Collection-Part 1.
The first set features four paintings focused on single stripe colours, allowing the purity of each hue to take centre stage while the fabric’s subtle shifts in light add quiet drama.
These sculptural folds gently echo the dynamics of a growing family: distinct forms moving alongside one another, shaping and reshaping their shared space and each other.
These three paintings follow the process of turning inward—first finding comfort, then moving through deep introspection, and finally bringing new clarity into life. Together, they represent each part of the process and and how it can lead to real change both inside and out.
These two watercolours are softly draped fuzzy wool blankets, where gentle folds create a sense of weight, warmth, and security—an invitation to lean in, linger and uncover deeper emotional dualities. They explore how light, colour, and form can mirror our internal landscape, revealing the tensions, comforts, and quiet forces that shape us.
These paintings emphasize stronger, sharper and more deliberate folds, brought to life by dramatic lighting that highlights their sculptural presence. They hold the quiet relief of finding your way through darkness, finally seeing the light and the recognition that things fold together perfectly and inevitably, just as they are meant to.
I’m thrilled that the initial HBC Collection- Part 1 is now available, with 11 original watercolours looking for their new homes. I can’t wait for you to see the paintings that emerged from the studio this Fall.
